Hi everyone,

I would like to announce the 2007 Melbourne Diplomacy Convention.

This event will be held at the Station Hotel in Prahran (right next to
Prahran station believe it or not!). Entry will be $10, however due to
licensing restrictions only people over the age of 18 will be able to
attend. There is coffee, food and a bar on hand, and a formal tournament
dinner will be held on the Saturday Night at "Pizza Piazza"
(Italian/Pizzas).

Accomodation is available in the hotel (Children welcome), or billoting can
be arranged.

I stress this is a Diplomacy Convention rather than a tournament. There will
be no scoring system (although individual attendees are welcome to make up
and present their own awards), no time draws, and the arbitrator for each
board will be instructed to encourage new players rather than be a rules
lawyer.

As well as Diplomacy, we are happy for this space to be used for other
multi-player boardgames - playing Diplomacy is not required, though it is
encouraged! If you want to play a specific game, make sure you arrange for
it to be there as the organisers can't own them all!!!

This event is in no way affiliated with the DAANZ, does not count toward the
Bismark Cup or Masterpoints, and is organised as a private event (I.e. the
organiser reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone who he sees fit).

As this is a new concept, please be sure to spread the word and bring as
many people along as you can! I am very open to suggestions, so please feel
free to get in touch and share your thoughts.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the convention!

-Andrew Goff
