That can certainly be done. But it means DAANZ (hence affiliation) will end
up primarily sustaining a Grand Prix system, rather than promoting tournmts
or playing. That's a valid position, but which I am urging you/others NOT
to take.

Why shouldn't DAANZ have one more, rather than one less, tournmt on its
calendar?
(Quite aside from the possibility that an event might not happen w/o hobby
support...)

We may be going around in a circle. The central question is: why shouldn't
DAANZ support a tournmt?
And my proposition is that, a preoccupation with the Bismark is clouding the
judgment.

If we keep Bismark aside, and ask whether we want an event supported
(whether GongCon, or Albury, or Cairns), then why shouldn't an event be part
of the 'family' of scheduled events, be listed on the official calendar etc?

And if one says 'yes', but the view changes only because Bismark is brought
into consideration, then I'd invite you to take the view that Bismark may be
hindering events. Don't let it, is what I'm saying.

DAANZ should promote events/playing, not just to sustain awards/Bismark.

T.
