[Daanz-dip] In response to no one in particular...

Hate to start rules-lawyering, BUT I must fan the flames more.
It is reasonably arguable that the proposed GongCon does not have any
extraordinary rules at all.
A distinction needs to be drawn between Tournament Rules (for the GM, and
under the DAANZ jurisdiction) and the venue rules (purely for the venue, and
no one else's friggin' business).
So the Tournament Rules could welcome everyone to enter. So it conforms
with the DAANZ rules, and can be affiliated. Or 'must be' affiliated, some
would argue.
But the Venue Rules may well be that the pub/club/house owner would refuse
entry to certain specified people. The fact that the GM and the venue
manager are the same person is immaterial.
So out of courtesy and good manners, you are being warned in advance that
children (who are welcome in the tournament) may not be able to actually get
inside to participate ... which is not the fault of the GM.
This would be my advice to Greg as to the position he ought to take, and is
provided free of charge on this occasion.
Cheers,
T.
